Everything you can do with Producer Pad

🎬Scene Control

Scenes are the foundation of your OBS production. Producer Pad gives you full control over scene switching.

Switching Scenes

Tap any scene to switch to it immediately. In Studio Mode, this changes the Preview. Use the transition controls to push Preview to Program.

Scene Indicators

  • ● Red border — Currently live (Program)
  • ● Green border — In Preview (Studio Mode)
  • ● No border — Not active

Studio Mode

When Studio Mode is enabled in OBS, you can preview scenes before pushing them live. The Preview shows what you're preparing, and Program shows what's live.

📦Source Management

Sources are the individual elements within each scene (cameras, images, text, etc.).

Visibility Toggle

Tap the eye icon next to any source to show or hide it. This is useful for temporarily removing elements without switching scenes.

Source Types

Each source displays an icon indicating its type (camera, image, text, browser, etc.). This helps you quickly identify what each source is.

Note: Adding, removing, or reordering sources is done in OBS Studio. Producer Pad focuses on real-time control during production.

🎚️Audio Mixer

Professional audio control with real-time VU meters and precise volume adjustment.

Volume Faders

Drag the slider to adjust volume. The scale is in decibels (dB), with 0 dB being the default level. Move left to decrease, right to increase.

VU Meters

Real-time level meters show your audio levels:

  • ■ Green — Normal levels (-60 to -20 dB)
  • ■ Yellow — Getting loud (-20 to -9 dB)
  • ■ Red — Too loud, may clip (-9 to 0 dB)

Mute/Unmute

Tap the speaker icon to mute or unmute any audio source instantly. Muted sources show a crossed-out speaker icon.

Tip: On iPad, the audio mixer shows in a 2-column grid in portrait mode for easier access to all your sources.

📡Streaming & Recording

Control your stream and recording with one-tap buttons and live status indicators.

Stream Control

Tap Start Streaming to go live. When streaming, you'll see a LIVE indicator and the button changes to Stop Streaming.

Recording Control

Tap Start Recording to begin capturing. A REC indicator appears. You can also Pause recording without stopping it.

Status Indicators

  • LIVE — Currently streaming
  • REC — Currently recording
  • These appear in the header so you always know your status.

Caution: Stopping a stream or recording cannot be undone. Make sure you're finished before tapping Stop.

🎥Video Monitors

See what's happening in OBS with real-time video previews.

Program Monitor

Shows what's currently live (your output). This is what viewers see. Has a red label.

Preview Monitor

Shows what's queued up next (Studio Mode only). Prepare your next scene here before transitioning. Has a green label.

Video Sources

  • NDI (recommended) — Low latency, high quality. Requires setup.
  • WebSocket Screenshots — Fallback option. Higher latency but works without NDI.

Refresh Rate: You can adjust how often the monitors update in Settings. Higher refresh rates use more battery and bandwidth.

Transitions

Control how you switch between scenes with the transition bar.

Transition Types

  • CUT — Instant switch, no animation
  • AUTO — Uses your default OBS transition
  • FADE — Smooth fade between scenes

Using Transitions

In Studio Mode, select a scene (it goes to Preview), then tap a transition button to push it to Program. The transition animates between them.

📝Text Editing

Update text sources directly from Producer Pad without switching to your computer.

Editing Text Sources

  1. 1. Find a text source in the Sources list
  2. 2. Tap the edit icon (pencil) next to it
  3. 3. Type your new text
  4. 4. Tap Save — changes appear in OBS immediately

Use Cases

  • • Lower thirds with guest names
  • • Score displays for sports
  • • Song titles for music streams
  • • Countdown timers
  • • Announcements and captions

Pro feature: Text editing requires a Producer Pad Pro subscription.

🔗Connection Profiles

Save multiple OBS connections and switch between them quickly.

Creating Profiles

Go to Settings → OBS Connection → Add Profile. Enter a name, IP address, port, and password. Profiles are stored securely in your device's Keychain.

Switching Profiles

Tap on a profile to connect to that OBS instance. You can have profiles for:

  • • Different computers
  • • Home vs. studio setups
  • • Multiple venues

Managing Profiles

Swipe left on a profile to delete it. Tap the QR icon to add a new profile by scanning an OBS WebSocket QR code.

Pro feature: Unlimited profiles requires Producer Pad Pro. Free users can save one profile.
